WICA Casting Commitment
We are seeking and highly encouraging all actors to submit, regardless of race/ethnicity/caste, disability, body type, age, orientation, or gender/gender identity.
We can’t change the script or the music but are open to considering actors of any gender identity for roles of specific gender identities. The actor would need to demonstrate the capability to portray the specified character as well as sing the required range. If you wish to be considered for specific roles, please note them on your audition form.
All cast members will receive a performance per diem.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Please prepare a contemporary monologue of 1-2 minutes in length and 32 bars of a song in the style of the show, preferably a show from the musical, with sheet music in the correct key. You can also choose to sing along to a "karaoke" version of the song. No singing along to recordings with the singer's voice present in the recording or a Capella, please.
An amplification system/speaker will be provided if you choose to sing along to a recording. The speaker will have a 1/8" cable for connecting to a playback device. An accompanist will be provided or you can provide your own. If using the provided accompanist, please provide them with their own copy of sheet music.
Bring a headshot, hard copy of resume, conflict calendar through October 24. There will be a movement call at callback auditions.
Auditions are held at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts: 565 Camano Avenue, Langley, WA 98260.
Callbacks: Tuesday, July 14, from 6pm-10pm
Rehearsals will begin in mid-August and will be held Sunday thru Thursday evenings, a maximum of 4 days per Sunday-Thursday period. The rehearsal calendar is compact and fast-paced. Therefore, conflict calendars will be a primary consideration for casting. Only minor conflict schedules will be considered, if any. No conflicts during tech week accepted.
