Senator Bill Bradley in "Conversation on the State of American Politics

Bill Bradley has distinguished himself in scholarship, athletics and politics. A Rhodes Scholar who has written seven books, he also was an all-American basketball player at Princeton and a 10-year star for the NBA New York Knicks. As a three-term senator from New Jersey, he became an expert on major issues of the day, including trade, taxes, budgetary matters, and campaign finance reform. As a candidate for the 2000 Democratic presidential nomination, he developed a large national following but fell to Vice President Al Gore. Bradley will be interviewed by Whidbey’s Robert Merry, who covered Bradley in the 1980s when Merry wrote for The Wall Street Journal and Bradley was a member of the Senate Finance Committee.
