Everyone is invited to celebrate the life of Paul Schell on Thursday, August 14. The celebration begins with a New Orleans’ style procession through First and Second Streets in Langley, followed by a service and reception at WICA, 565 Camano Ave.
The Procession begins at 1:30pm at the Inn at Langley and proceeds through First Street, turns right on Second Street, turns right on Anthes, and turns right again for one last pass through First Street. Please feel free to step into the procession at any time.
The procession will end in front of the Langley Library after the second pass-through on First Street. At this point, walkers are requested to vacate the street and utilize the sidewalks. The motorcade will continue to WICA, where everyone is invited to join the meet-and-greet gathering in Zech Hall.
Paul’s memorial service will follow in the Michael Nutt Mainstage Theatre. Extra seating will be provided in Zech Hall. A reception follows the service in Zech Hall, with hors d’ oeuvres and libations provided by local Langley restaurants.
Parking is available at WICA, as well as downtown parking at Visser Funeral Home on Third Street and Park Avenue.
The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made to Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, or Amara. An additional celebration of Paul’s life will be held on October 8, on what would have been his 77th birthday, at 3pm at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle.
