South Whidbey Schools Foundation Talent Showcase & Gala Fundraiser

Since 1994, the South Whidbey Schools Foundation has distributed nearly $200,000 for classroom grants for innovative, teacher-requested projects.  All proceeds from this Talent Show will go toward the classroom grant fund.

South Whidbey Schools Foundation's Nov. 23 talent show fundraiser at WICA will feature the popular local band, The Rural Characters, plus the South Whidbey High School Jazz Trio, the SWHS Show Choir under the direction of Paula Ludtke, and the Langley Middle School Jazz Combo. Other local musicians will include Kim Morris and Kent Ratekin, and Jeff Greene on piano, plus additional school staff, teachers and students. 

There will also be several skits, including one featuring South Whidbey Schools Superintendent Jo Moccia and another with Mike McInerney, Bill Humphreys and Jean Shaw. South Whidbey's 'Conductor of Fun,' Jim Freeman, will serve as emcee. There will be a 4 p.m. wine bar and Foundation exhibit of past grant projects in Zech Hall. The curtain goes up at 5:30 p.m. on the Michael Nutt Main Stage.

Tickets are $25 and are available online or at WICA's box office.  All proceeds will go to the South Whidbey Schools Foundation for classroom grants.  Visit www.SWSFoundation.org for more information.
