Kitsch n' Bitch with Sue Frause - The Farewell Episode

  • Whidbey Island Center for the Arts 565 Camano Avenue Langley, WA, 98260 United States (map)

After a five year run, Whidbey Island’s first and only live cooking show bids friends and fans goodbye. Joining Sue for the final show will be two of her favorite guests, Peter Miller and Cynthia Nims.  Miller, a Seattle bookstore owner and author of Lunch at the Shop: The Art and Practice of the Midday Meal, will prepare a seasonal dish of cauliflower, chanterelles, pancetta, and prunes topped with breadcrumbs and parsley - perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving meal. Nims, a culinary consultant and food writer whose most recent cookbooks include Oysters and Salty Snacks, will prepare an oyster and celery root bisque, also ideal for the holidays.

Joining them on stage, “Julia” will return as guest bartender! Star Store co-owner Gene Felton returns to reprise his role as Julia Child, and will be joined behind the bar by his wife Tamar.  Popular south Whidbey group Secrets, featuring David Licastro, Alicia Elliott, and Russell Sparkman will perform as the evening’s house band, and Nancy Nolan will entertain in the Zech Hall Piano Bar.

Emceeing the evening, David Gignac joins host Sue Frause as she bids a fond farewell to this beloved live kitchen show with special guests, live music, signature cocktails and, if we’re lucky, a surprise or two.
